Inishowen: Paintings and Stories from the land of Eoghan charts the history of the land and people from the dawn of time to the middle of the last century.

Local artist Ros Harvey and historians Sean Beattie and Martin Lynch have captured perfectly the essence of the Inishowen area in a series of paintings, history and anecdotes which will both fascinate and delight the reader.

Inishowen, 'The island of Owen', was named after Eoghan one of the sons of 'Naill of the Nine Hostages', High King of Ireland. An area of outstanding natural beauty Inishowen has witnessed many historical events such as a visit from St. Patrick, the flight of the Earls, the arrest of Wolfe Tone at Buncrana, the desolation of the Famine and the mass emigration which followed, and the sheltering of the entire British Grand Fleet at the beginning of the First World War.
